On October 3 at the annual 1999 IOA Convention, held in Itasca, James A. McKechnie, Jr., executive director of the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness presented the 1999 ISPB Distinguished Lecturer Series Award to Dr. Anthony Litwak, O.D., F.A.A.O. Dr. Litwak’s course presentation, entitled “Glaucoma Update & Case Analysis,” provided clinicians with the latest advances and technologies in glaucoma diagnosis, management and treatment.

Currently Residency Program Director of the Baltimore Veteran Administration Medical Center, Dr. Litwak is also on the Professional Staff at Fort Howard Veterans Administration Medical Center. He is a chapter author in Primary Care of the Glaucomas, Problems in Optometry, Clinical Optometric Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and several optometric journals. Dr. Litwak is editor of The Glaucoma Handbook, a book soon to be released. This award is made possible by an annual ISPB grant to the IOA—a tradition for more than a decade.
