Dr,. Jurkus is a professor at the Illinois College of Optometry and on the staff in the contact lens area at the Illinois Eye Institute. Dr. Jurkus is a nationally-recognized expert in contact lenses. She has spoken to eye care practitioners throughout the United States and Europe, teaching them about new information on the advances in the field of contact lenses.

Dr. Jurkus is a diplomat in the Cornea-Contact Lens Section of the American Academy of Optometry and an advisor to the Ophthalmic Devices Division of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
